Do you believe all that the media says about the Muslims and Islam?

According to me media is the reason that Islam is disrespected these days. Islam was since a 1000 years but it is only now that people think that muslims are bad.It they were really bad then what were they doing since all these 1000 years.I don't believe in media completely.do you?

Actually, non-Muslims haven't really liked Muslims much at all for the past 1400 years. Within a hundred years of the death of Muhammed, Muslims conquered much of the known world, and although they were comparatively beneficent conquerors, they were still conquerors. They made incredible advances in medicine, mathematics, and hundreds of other fields, and it is because of the Muslim conquerors that the works of the ancient Greeks survived until today, but that doesn't mean everybody liked them. They were the most advanced civilization in the world for hundreds of years, and the rest of the world felt the same way towards Islam as the rest of the world feels toward the US today.

If you want to discuss the media please SPECIFY WHICH MEDIA you are talking about. If I were to watch Al Arabiya I would probably hear little or no debate about Islam itself or even Muslims. If I watch Fox News, the only guests they may have on a certain show may only be people who have long shared an animosity towards Islam. If I watch BBC World News I'd get images of Muslims as wealthy as Prince Ala-weed who manages Investcorp to images of very poor muslims in Yemen. If I watch CNBC East (which is pretty much dedicated to Asian news coverage then they are going to show Muslims doing business. I don't think the broadcasters sit and debate on whether they are presenting a negative or a positive view. They just report. I have only discussed cable and satellite networks. There are many other types of MEDIA. There is radio, websites, newspapers, magazines, books, comic strips, etc.

I don't believe that Islam, or Muslims are bad, And I don't think the media has helped any respect issues with any religion. I am a christian, but I believe that everyone, regardless of religion is either good or bad. It is a personal choice, to be good, or to be bad. If they are good they allow everyone the freedom to be their selves. If they are bad, everyone who is different from them is bad and should be punished. the bad sorts can be christian, Muslim, Islamic, atheist, agnostic, Wicca, or devil worshipers. but it is still a choice, and everyone has to make thier own decision.
Wow that kinda got away from your question. But no I don't believe everything the media says.

I don't believe the Media portray Muslims as being bad people, i think they like to report on violence whether it's Israel, Americans are Muslim, if you not Muslim you tend to see just the Muslim violence and not the violence created by your on kind. And that the sad part, that we as a people are always trying to look at the neighbor's house.

Actually, when I think about why I don't believe 100% of what I see and hear in the media, it scares me to know that we will never see the BIG picture or know the truth! It's too big to comprehend and if you put GOD into the picture, you have to realize that you will always know less than you will ever know! We aren't even given enough truth to make any correct assumptions!

I don't think Muslims are bad ... some are friends of mine. The media needs to drop the religious affiliation and just concentrate on "terrorists," no matter what religion they follow.

What religion was McVay of the Oklahoma bombing ... a Christian. Nobody jumped on Christians because of that terrorist.

You must always take every story at half value until you can confirm or deny it with additional sources. Its part of being a good reader and it is key if you plan to become something like a detective.

i dont know...no religion is bad...sometimes leaders mislead people...and i think islamic leaders have been guilty of that...there are very few democratic islamic nations in the world...i think media only reports....it doesnt create stories...
