Misery loves company. Some people label themselves so they'll get the feeling that they're "associated". Yeah- I don't get it, either.

It's symbolic shorthand. A way to identify others that might share similar interests, and to exclude others based on physical characteristics like hair style, and fashion sense. It's just a stage that most people grow out of once they leave high school and develop some real life skills. If you still insist on labeling yourself past the age of 25, get help.

So true. If I truely did that, my label would be much longer than madbaldscotsman.

Maybe it's because they want to identify themselves with something they really like instead of what they really are. Not a bad thing but they'll grow out of it.

I want to label myself a millionaire one day.

Because everyone wants to belong to a group and not be alone. I personally don't label myself. I just like nice jeans, some funny shirts along with some nice shirts, and some nice shoes. I am being myself.

Ya! When I was in highschool, I hated that, but I didn't make it easy to label me because I fit into a few different categories.
To this day, I would be offended if I was to be classified by anything but gender.

I have no idea why people do it, I think it's just stupid! I mean, what's the reason to give everyone a label. We're all people, and all different from eachother, you don't need to put everyone in their own little group. It's really dumb.

Because people are stupid and are afraid to be their own person. I know probably a handful of people that are individuals and they are the best kind of people in the world. How can you be different if you've put yourself into a social group like that? I don't know if it's just me, but I've always wanted to be different.
