To answer your question,
I don't "expect" gifts, but I do appreciate the thoughtfulness of my Loved one when a surprise is given out of the kindness and love that is in her heart. I also give unexpected gifts too, such as, leaving a romantic card for her under her keys where I'm sure she will find it. Or, another example is, when she had worked for a year at her job, I bought her a pair if diamond earrings to celebrate her accomplishment. I do this because I want to, not because she "expects" it. "She is the wind beneath my wings...

no i never expect gifts from anyone esp my significant other. i do expect to be treated with love and respect and to be hugged when ever i am having a bad day and to be held at night when i want to cuddle and to be left alone when i don't. i expect never to have to watch more than one sporting event a day on TV and that includes those played on the X Box. (except basketball i love basketball). get my man to do all that plus take out the trash and that's the best gift ever

No not necessarily, but it is nice when it happens. I think it’s a lot more special when you receive an unexpected gift, rather than those holidays, which require the giving or exchange of gifts.

Yes, I do expect it to.
It'll gives me the gift of eating an ice popsicle everytime I crave it.
My hand, that is.

Since i have no other of any particular significance right now.....i guess i'm off the hook for giving gifts.
(Yes it's boring.....but it definitely saves money.)

I dumped my significant other years ago...if he handed me a gift now I'd probably smack him in the head with it.

No, but I don't expect here to because she earns less money.
I buy her a little something every now and then.

No I could never be the kind of person who would "expect" gifts. That would be so incredibly shallow.
What matters most to me are the things money cannot buy. :)
