Why do Muslims and many Europeans continue to ignore the other obvious truth (i.e. that the actions of loads of radical groups threatening them are far more immoral).

Because people take sides, as if they're watching a football game. Complicated truths are a hassle. People want a quick answer.

If there was a quick answer this conflict would have been resolved years ago.

Read the news from other countries if you're so convinced that Americans are the only armchair politicians in the world.

I dont know what you mean by AMERICANS? Anericans are from both North and South , so only the United States is involved, i think the United States goverment, not all the people, is thinking of the German holocaust, they also have a lot invested in Israel! Immoral, Immschmoral. When the state of Florida Executes a prisoner on death row, the act of killing him is by definition, immoral. But, in the eyes of a plurality, justified. Two wrongs don't make a right. In this case might makes right. Israel is justifiably retaliating to immoral acts committed upon it's populace. All who read your question should note that you fail to address the immorality of Palestinian/Syrian-militant/terrorist's actions which are always the precursor to Immoral actions on the part of the Israelis.

They are simply defending themselves by all means necessary, and that is what any sovereign nation should do. Why do idiots like you always point out what you think Israel and America are doing wrong, but you never bring up anything that the terrorists and thuggish, Islamic murderers do?

You people always talk about injustices, well I think it's a terrible injustice when you act as if America and Israel should be held to a different standard than the terrorists are. I think if they behead one of our people, we should behead ten of their men in Guantanamo Bay just to show them that we mean business. That isn't "immoral", that's WAR. Israel nor the U.S. should be expected to feed these punks cookies and punch, it's war and it's a nasty situation. We should be expected to WIN above all and protect our citizens first and foremost.

Immoral? I think kid napping innocent people is immoral. I think these terrorists are immoral. Israel just wants their people back. Israel is defending herself and her soldier in this latest conflict. Palestinian militants initiated the incident by crossing the border and kidnapping this young man, taking him back to Gaza. Although it's not clear who this wing of Hamas is taking its orders from, it's pretty clear the Hamas government has no control over them. The Palestinian government needs to control its citizens, and if it does not it should expect a response from Israel. However, even if the political wing of Hamas was in control, they would not have done anything differently. They could have condemned the kidnapping, but instead approved of it and tried to use the life of this Israeli as a bargaining chip. I don't see how you can say what Israel is doing is immoral.

Ariel Sharon is a convicted war criminal in Europe...and he was Prime Minister of Israel. Most Americans don't know that. In fact, most Americans probably couldn't tell you who the current PM is, either...yet they'll defend his actions and support whatever israel does regardless, because they're told that israel is the poor victim of daily terrorist attacks. It's just something you have to accept when dealing with the general American populace.
