Tsk, tsk. So many answers. So many hateful, misinformed, anti-Americans sentiments.

Yet, I wonder how many of you are over 21?

If I could picture the brains of most of the people that gave these ludicrous answers, I think I would see total chaos.

A few of the answers have been quite intelligent, but most answers were given by young folks that 1) can't even spell, 2) know little about their world, 3) have done nothing more than take what the U.S. has to offer and given nothing back, 4) have forgotten they enjoy their freedom because millions of U.S. citizens (and in many cases NON-citizens) that came before them made even the ultimate sacrifice to preserve freedom, return freedom, and give freedom to those that appreciate freedom and understand freedom is not free.

Freedom has a price. If a people are not willing to pay the price, they will not know freedom.

It is a shame the draft is not active. I am quite disgusted with all these spoiled brats that have taken all there is to take and flip their middle finger at those that paid for their freedom.

If there was no leader in this world, it would be like kids all together in one room with no adult, no supervisor, no leader to keep things under control. Imagine what it would be like of all the kids in the room could do whatever they wanted, even hurt other kids.

SOMEONE has to be there to make sure the room doesn't turn into a freaking free-for-all.

Right now, the U.S. is the only one who can be there and do what needs to be done NOT for the benefit of ONE--but for the good of all.

You kids? STFU and realize you have your PC's, your IPOD's, your DVD's, your new cars while still in high school, and so much more NOT because YOU did anything to have them, but because other people, most you don't know, did something for you and have not asked you to pay them for it.

Grow up, you spoiled little brats.

The world is shrinking geopolitically. We care what Iran does, because of guilt. Iran wants to obliterate israel. The U.S. still feels guilty for not participating early against hitler. We feel in some ways that the horrible deaths of the jews were because we abstained until germany began attacking our commercial ships. If Iran or North Korea, regardless of their religion, develop nuclear weapons, the current leadership is unpredictable and fanatical. Over zealous religious leaders with a military arm are a danger to people. The U.S. will not let Israel be obliterated whether because of guilt or because the people of the U.S., even the worst racists, are still basically good and we like thinking of ourselves as heros. Every boy wants to be a knight and rescue the damsel in distress. Very few Americans are inherently evil. We have homelessness. We have poverty. We have corruption. The government can't eradicate it all by itself, we still have poverty, homelessness, and corruption in areas because the American people allow it to exist. Bush can generate programs, but it is the good in each American that will eradicate the destitution done to others. I give money to the men and women at the intersections holding the sign. So what if they use it to buy booze or drugs or just to make a few bucks. If they are ripping me off then they are working at least. I get ripped off by the phone company all the time and credit cards. The point is. In America we tolerate a little hardship. In the middle east we have been tolerating the public executions of men, women, and children. We don't want to be over there, but the U.S. will stand and deliver when given the opportunity. We can't attack North Korea because they haven't attacked us, so we have to let the North Korean people suffer. We try economic sanctions which only hurt the people. We care because it is the right thing to do. We aren't afraid, we're pissed off and frustrated. We aren't a perfect nation, but we love our country and the people in it. Except for Michael Moore.

Why does any country care what another country does? The answer is that we all do what is in our best interest. And we have every right to do so. We don't want Iran to develop nukes because they would then pose a threat to us. We want the Iraqis to elect a president who would have good relations with us. We have every right to try to stop Iran from developing nukes just like they have every right to develop them. They're only doing what's in their best interest. The U.S. is currently the military and economic superpower so it would make sense that we would want to stay at the top. Since the dawn of civilization, empires have been competing so that they aren't overcome by another group of people. In a world of increasing globalization, it's imperative that we pay attention to every detail in order to maintain our status.

On top of all that, the U.S. has suffered the effects of isolation and learned its lesson from it. (Pearl Harbor) An we know now that we can't ignore the middle east either (9/11).

Thanks Sayid.

Some notes to our American friends who wrote criticising your intelligence or english skills.

To the idiots. This man probably speaks several languages!!! Surprise surprise, in some parts of the world, it is seen as a good thing to be able to communicate and fully appreciate other cultures. You fools seem to equate 'ability to speak english' with 'intelligent'.

As some equally hard headed, but less clueless people have stated, the US are simply acting in their own interests.

As you will note from comments on Yahoo, many US residents are not very well informed. They read their newspapers and watch their Fox News and really believe that George Bush and Co. are making the world a safer place. So there is a political interest there, show 'strength' by destroying people abroad, and win votes from idiots.

They also like to pretend to be good, and that is why they will use nonsensical or deliberately media friendly statements like "we are fighting for freedom" and "they hate our freedom". Basically I thought that people would see through propagandist style words and phrases in this day and age, but no, people are reciting such nonsense on here.

What do you mean they hate our freedom? What a ridiculous concept. Do you really think all of the people in Iraq and the middle east are saying at the dinner table. You know what, I like hamburgers, but you know what I really dont like about America? Their freedom!!!.."

What a crock of s..t.

Basically it is becoming more and more evident that the western powers through their control of media, are trying to make it clear to the world who is good and who is evil.

I'd suggest to the US people that you are making the world think you are evil yourselves. This is made worse by touting your religious status as a badge of goodness, while at the same time sending troops and bombs which, deliberately or indirectly (it doesnt matter) killing many many innocent people.

So idiot americans, what type of retribution should the innocent iraqi peope take on you. Or do you think everyone should say thank you?

I wish Jesus would return so he could say a few words (although you'll probably call him a left liberal whiner) and shock you guys into realising your lack of any real understanding of morality.

Morality in some cases varies from culture to culture, but it is how each country or group stands up to their own morals that is interesting. USA fails dismally on every possible measure, but strangely, her people seem proud of it!

1) The weapons industry = $
2) US Strength = power = votes
3) Its like the british 200 years ago & the romans... its empire building... they put in a government that they want. Just because the colours on the map stay the same, people think its for freedom. There is no fredom in living under some other countries system.

1.Because if Iran has nukes there will be no region.(Israel is the real target of Iran)
2. Saddam was a mass murderer bent on taking over the whole region. (if it was about gas then how come my wallet hurts when I go to the pump.
3. Don't know. (Somalia been there done that, say no more)

Do you expect Iceland to do it. Seriously, we are the only country that can. Iran is dangerous. Any country or leader who claims to be following the will of God with nukes is our business. You will be breathing the air after a nuclear exchange between Iran and Israel. And as for Somalia, another bunch of nuts saying they are following the will of God.

We are playing the cards that have been dealt to us. We are the world power and we are forced to act that way.

When there is a problem, the world looks to us to solve it.

Remember that solutions always create problems for someone.

Our solutions do not always satisfy everyone.

The United Nations was established to act as we are acting but the UN became a pile of political ineffectives; it now cannot do much of anything.

So BIG BROTHER ends up doing the dirty work for the world.

Because America is the world version of the schoolyard bully that beat you up for your lunch money... the stakes are just a bit higher now.

I have now lost count of all the budding terrorists that George Bush has created world wide, but it's a scary number.
