Here's a couple of examples:

The silent e at the end makes the vowel a long vowel like in
make, lake, like, fine, tone, etc etc
But what about the word HAVE?

What about PH making the sound "f"?

ea makes long vowel e like in eat, seat, beat
what about the word GREAT?

ou makes the sound the same sound in these words ground, sound, found, but when it comes to should, could, would its different.

Why are crow and cow different when they both have ow?

English phonics have many incosistencies, those are just a few I can think of without thinking too hard.

The words "sew" and "dew" have always driven me crazy, I use those in my class to illustrate how the English language has many words you can't just sound out.
