I ask this question because after reading an article in Newsweek, African-American mean and women have the highest rate in having this disease. It is an epidemic. It needs to be stopped.

there are a few things people can do.
1. Know about AIDS, know what it is and how it is contracted
2. Know about AIDS treatments and medicines
3. Know about the means of protecting your self, and how to get them
4. PROTECT YOURSELF, practice safe sex
5. Don't do drugs, especially ones that are injected with a syringe.

I think people have been educated to death about AIDS, it is on TV and in the schools. We can not force people to use condoms. We can tell them,we can warn them about the evils of using using needles, but we can not force them.
I don't know what else we can do. Look at cigarettes, everyone know about the evils of smoking yet more people start everyday.

its not just a problem in african americans, and aids isnt the only problem, i think people are living like its the 70s still. There is nooo free love ppl! we all gotta get our hormones in check. and stop fu*cking when were drunk, and getting caught up in the moment..... std's are on a rampage in general....and soo are unexpected pregnancies! EVERYONE BE CAREFUL and use condoms...

well i guess that the only solution is for woman in Africa to start getting condoms no matter what so that way it will prevent the disease from spreading because unfortunately there is no cure.

I agree. Knowledge is the key that means distribution of brochures, leaflets, a topic that a church elder can conduct during prayer meeting, etc.

Education and condoms stop spread AIDS, and also to stop using needles that someone have already used(drugs).

If I was African American, I would try to destroy black culture and rebuild it. Start with rap and ebonics and work your way up to gangs and crack prostitutes. Good luck getting a good black role model though. If a black man isnt rappin about gang violence, expoliting women and selling drugs, blacks won't buy it.

Stop having sex with every one with gettin and hiv test first, dont touch anything which is sticky and warm if its not urs......
