do you think teachers should get more moeny for puting up with the kids of today ?

Personally, I don't think teachers get paid enough especially considering how many parents just look at the school as a free babysitting service and take no part in their child's education. However, I do not see taxpayers being willing to pay higher taxes to pay for it. As it stands now, some teachers have to pay out of their own pockets for supplies for their classrooms and most work more than your standard 8 hour day when you factor in grading papers and lesson planning.

Yes, there are days I feel I should get combat pay...I teach Special Ed. and deal with really difficult kids who can get violent. I get the same pay as the "reg. ed" teachers.

basically this is a case in private schools,actually teachers are underpaid now u see that those who are working in corporates they are getting maximum wage of 1.5lakh also but though MBA is in demand now a days but professors in MBA institutes are getting maximum salary of 50-60 thousand.

Obviously some of us are overpaid, especially considering the number of poor spellers we are turning out into the cyberworld.

Yes. Some teachers are so dedicated that they not only deserved a bigger payroll, they deserve an award.

I think teacher are underpaid. Sometimes teachers are with their students more than the parents.

i think theyre underpaid. especially at a private school. i go to a private school and they get paid like 30,000 a year which is like minimum wage
