.........and then later a bunch of different things show themselves about him, and none of the first set of personality traits proves to be real, would you all agree with me that this is false advertising?

I mean, why can't people just be themselves and not care if the other person is looking for that? If the other person likes them, it will work, if not move on to someone who likes you as is, right? Save energy, save time, save my mind~!

I would be more apt to call it false representation. Simply because he is touting his own percieved views of himself. If he were representing a product or another person then one could consider that as advertising.

What you've found is a phoney... someone who can't live up to the image of the person he thinks he needs to be to be attactive to you.
