did you know that the government is so big that each of us have one person in the goverment that knows evrything about your from your head to your toes

Yes, and your question made me think. From the time we wake up in the morning until we go to sleep at night, the government dictates our every move.

To make coffee in the morning, we use government dictated standard water. If we light up a cigarette to go with the coffee, we're smoking government taxes. When you shower, you're using government regulated soap and shampoo. You brush your teeth with toothpaste that the federal government has it's input on. If you're running your a/c or heater, the government not only has it's regulations on the actual product delivered, it also oversee's the mechanical parts of the system. Drying your hair with a hair dryer has connections to the government, so does the make-up women put on their faces.

Now, go to work, and the government has it's hand in your paycheck too. Drive your car to get there and you're riding in a vehicle that the government has imposed it's standards on. All the way from wearing a seat belt down to the tires. Every stop sign or stop light was put there by the government. The rules while you're driving are also made by the government.

So then, after work you go to the grocery store. There again, anything you purchase, the government has dictated everything from the initial products beginning, all the way down to the final product you consume. When you've finished your day and sit down to watch a little TV, know that it too is operating under government guidelines.

The list is really endless now that I've thought about it. Sounds to me as if government is already too big, we sure don't need it any bigger.

Ericka, there are those who believe that there is already too much government in our country. Generally this group are the conservatives in politics. Then there are some on the other end of the spectrum who think that everything should involve the government. These are what the conservatives think the liberals are. Of course, somewhere in between the two views lies the truth of either conservative or liberal positions. There is too much government but not enough in some things. It's a bit tricky to figure out. As far as a government person knowing me from my head to my toes, well he has a full-time job at least, so maybe he'll just stay out of my hair.

I doubt there is an actual person who is assigned to me and knows all my vital statistics but I do believe a person with the right resources could access almost any record relevant to me with a few key facts about me. Such as SSI# ,DOB etc... And yes I do believe there is too much government for other reasons also.

Absolutely. Have you seen the rise in government spending over the last 15 or so years? Scary.

Even scarier that govt. advocates never seem to think that spending is high enough, never.

Big government is our problem now. The Bigger the Government the less that gets done.

Oh yes , the government has it's nose in every part of our lives. They want to regulate everything we do .

Yes the governtment should keep us safe and that's it. They should not affect our daily lives beyond that.
