That was Lynyrd Skynyrd not Metallica. Metallica was formed in 1980. Who knows? 'Ronnie' isn't a Metallica song, anyway. Who cares about Lynyrd Skynyrd, anyway? Only Sweet Home Alabama and that's because of Reese Witherspoon.

Wikipedia lists it as being a song about a school shooting. Songfacts.com says it is about a 1995 school shooting in Washington state. They said the the shooter was Ron Brown, who the other kids called "Ronnie Frown"

nicely i'm going to respond to for me in basic terms - I massively desire their thrash sound to their ramped down troublesome rock sound. i think of the music writing is a little greater proper on the older albums additionally. i've got listened to all Metallica albums (in any different case how could i actually understand if i like it or no longer...) and dying Magnetic is an ok troublesome rock album yet no longer extremely my cup of tea so I declined to purchase it. even though, this is greater proper than Load, Reload and St Anger and for the radio stations this is going to look on, dying Magnetic is plenty reliable adequate for that.
