Alot of people complain about the government and other things, but when it comes right down to it, I would rather live here than anywhere else in the world! I can see why some other countries might be jealous. We live in the greatest place in the world.

We feed more of the world than any other country because we have so much we can afford to export. We have a democratic government and civil rights. There is plenty of room for everybody. We have our own oil reserves (not that we use them). It is a great nation.

It is also the most powerful nation in the world, with the most powerful and advanced military forces. That's why they are jealous.

I don't call it jealousy, maybe resentment or hatred would fit.If you are looking for a valid reason for that, how about looking a bit into the history or the would-be history(the present).it might not be surprising to know how the U.S interferes every where in the name of establishimg peace or democracy and what happens is that thousands of innocents get killed by the 'smart' bombs.just look at Vietnam,Algeria,Somalia,Afganisthan and Iraq. These are examples of open war or violence. There is another economical war we fail to notice that drains the wealth of developing and under-developed countries. It cannot be explained in a short message. If you need an explanation or have any doubts, feel free to contact me.
But I still think the U.S is a great place which has given lots of contributions to science and technology.

I guess you have never been anywhere else huh?

The US is not all that its cracked up to be. I have residence for the US and I am Australian...I would never, ever leave Australia to settle in the US on a permanent basis.

Maybe people who know no better are jealous, but there are plenty of better places than the "good ole' U S of A"!

Shoot..ya gotta ask that question? hehe...If you're here, look around you, man. Whatever you want, it's right there... Good looking women, they're right there...nice cars? yeah! decent roads, decent food! cool! In fact, I think a lot of people take this country for granted.

Rigo, why do you feel this way? I'm kind of curious.... I mean, if I feel people from a certain country this way (well, at first I wouldn't generalize and say that all people are a certain way) are all egocentric or whatever, I'd just ignore them and let them live in ignorance! Why live with it, why get on a hating mentality, just let it go, and it won't bother you.

I am not sure if it is always jealousy, but let's face it, in spite of everything, it is a great country.

How many USA citizens do you know of are illegal immigrants to another country, some do retire in Mexico, because their dollars go farther but over all we do have a good standard of living. We have a fairly decent education system. Are we the best, I think we are up there, other countries may have us beat in some areas, but no one does in all areas.

Jealous? Other countries are increasingly up set with the U.S. as it is today. Back when we WERE the "Good Ole' U.S. of A." is when they were jealous. You're in a time warp.

It's become the popular thing around the world...especially in Europe. It's pretty pathetic, almost like a bandwagon. These people in other countries pick and choose which things they want to believe about the U.S. They are similar to the U.S. in that they form their opinions from what their media tells them to believe, and their media is pretty anti-american.

That being said, and having been to few different spots around the world. I'll say this. American culture is the one main culture in the world that is seen in almost any country you go to. From Music to Movies, to clothes etc...

Such a typical question a sterotype Yankee Doodle as yourself would ask.... people like you give Americans a bad name.

I'm not jealous nor do I have anything against the US of A. But for me - wouldn't live anywhere else other than Australia.

jealous?? i dont think you dont know what jealous means.
they simply hate our government's guts.
and you are an idiot!!
but according to your question and the majority of the answers they have every right to hate the people too!! we are just too blindly cocky
and erika sweetheart please!! you sound like a 12 year old daddy's girl. go ask him how he busts his tail off to support his family, what money are you talking about??!!! the country is suffering a huge deficit and it has been economically unstable since 9/11.
and dont you worry about our freedom we are gonna lose it very soon if we continue putting people like this adminstration in charge to destroy the constitution.
