Everybody says put in the ick medicine. If you do, take out any carbon.. it counteracts the ick medicine.
You can also add aquarium salt.. follow the directions.. it's something like a tablespoon per five gallons or something. It's not a cure, but it helps lessen the stress on the fish.
The best thing you can do.. if you have an aquarium with a heater.. turn up the heater to 82 or so. Most all parasites can't live in that temperature. I just leave my tank at that temperature all the time.. never ever had a problem with ick ever since. Some fish may not like that heat.. but a goldfish.. doubt it phases them.
You can do one or all three of these things. The salt on it's own will probably not cure the problem though. The other two probably will. The 82 degree water will definitely.. at least it's worked for me.

If it looks like salt on it it has ick. go to oet store and buy super ick or something of that nature. raise the temp to 82 and dont feed them for like 3 days

Go to a fish store and get some medicine. It doesn't sound like Ich, it sounds like a fungus infection. Talk to the people at the store and they can help you determine what's the best medicine to get.

go to the pet store and get a bottle of the batceria liquid killing stuff and follow the directions on the bottle and your fish should be fine and no your probably not to blame a lot of stuff can cause fish to get bacteria

it is ick, go to pet store or walmart and get some drops for ick, it isn't expensive at all and no you aren't to blame, they just get it and it can kill them so it does need to be treated asap

First,clean your filter........change the water........add chlorine......
How big is your tank?
If it is just a small bowl, just put a table spoon of salt into it.....
If it is a 2ft tank, put about 1 handful......
If its a 4ft tank, put about 2 handful.......

Goldfish can get a thing caled "ich".You can buy ich remover at you pet shop.
