The most important thing is to study the factors of (empire erosion) and since each empire has its own elements and constituents, so the factors of its erosion are different. We all want to keep America the top power of the world, but I am afraid lest every American is intoxicated by their welfare, comfort, scientific progress and all aspects of strong Empire and forgets to anticipate the factors of erosion. The most important thing is that some erosion factors come from inside as a result of aging and disloyality. If Americans, ALL AMERICANS, feel belonging to their country, ONLY THEIR COUNTRY, not to religions, I think it is a building and life-keeping factor. But if everyone feels that their LOYALITY and FIDALITY should go to religion not to the country, this is the beginning of the downfall. When we read the "histories" of great empires' downfalls, we will find a common factor of erosion which is "religious differences and disputes". What I noticed when I visited the USA in 2000 and 2003, was that many people there ranging from (taxidrivers to businessmen and doctors) concentrated in dealing with the others on religious bases. They told me "because they thought I was of the same religion" though they got their American "Greencards" but the most important thing for them is their loyality and fidality to their relgion and they migrated their to preach the religion and get the "America's money". their idea is that if "THEY" can't stand against or defeat America, they try to change America from inside and make her "theocratic" state or governent at least. This will not happen overnight of course but on the very long-run according to a very long-term plan which begins by forming certain lobbies based on ethenticity or relgion or by building places for praying where the group can meet to pray and conspire. I noticed also that some local (state) governments donnated land and money to build such places although these governments are not elected on religious bases. And instead of eveyone in America should subject to and "respect" the American culture whatever it is, we find that these groups change even the regulations or schudles of the pedagogical place or organization because of religious demands. And this is just a start. They exploit democracy, freedom which don't exist in their mother countries to take over. These groups work in a net and they spread in Europe (specially in France) as well. May God HELP and bless America !!!!

I don't think it's going to happen anytime. The US has so many hard-working and well-educated immigrants, whereas most other countries have a decling population and don't absorb newcomers well. Sure some IT etc, jobs go overseas, but a lot of the top minds in the industry immigrate to the US. The more money people make in India or China; the more likely they are to go to US, so their prosperity is good for the US. Ultimately, what sustains an empire is people and the US has folks with everything from just strong backs to advanced degrees coming in every year.

America shall prevail if all are united, but her freedom could one day kill her. Today's freedom is dangerous if we don't watch out. America will keep on being no. 1 if she eliminates poverty and inequality in America and all countries. If we heed the words of Thomas Shannon, secretary of State for Latin America, America will continue to be no.1 for the next 500 years: "We must assure ourselves that democracy can resolve the issues of inequality and poverty because if we do not, people will abandon it". This includes all countries and America as well.

Everything eventually must come to an end, so it stands to reason that sooner or later there will be a new big kid on the block. I would like to think it won't be in my time.
