Just because your country lost does not mean that you cannot enjoy the game. My country did not even make it into the World Cup and yet I have managed to find a team to support. Portugal!!!
Go Portugal!!!!!

You found it boring because of 2 things -
probably your ignorance of soccer and its history
The quality of commentary in the American channels (ESPN, ABC) is pathetic. The guys show ignorancet of the world cup history, make many factual errors during the commentary, and do not cover the game very well. For example the famous WC 86 Brzil-france quarter final match (yes, quarter final between BR and FR 20 years ago) was never mentioned during the commentary.
You need some history and context to enjoy and appreciate this great game. The TV channels here do not provide it.

They are educated and know the history and passion between the game of football. France is one of the only few countries that has Brazil's number. To that I say Allez Les Blues.

I'm totally not bored. Watching the World Cup beats watching any other sport. Plus, soccer (football everywhere else) is the most popular sport in the world. You must be the boring one.

i am an american. i play softball. and this is the first time i have watched soccer. and i must say i am completely addicted to the world cup. i find myself rooting and yelling at the players from my couch. i relate to the winners and the losers and feel tears when i watch the grown men in tears because their loss means a plane ride home.
"boring cup"- you've got to be kidding

Why dont you go hit a ball with a stick some more?
Or maybe you like to just run into other people?
Or do you prefer brawling on the ice?

Most of the game is exciting, but that damn foreign policy of every time any soccer player anyplace on earth gets knocked down, he immediately grabs his knee like he's hurt. TOO MANY DIVES.

You have to have passion for the game. I just started watching soccer this year and it was kind of boring compared to american football but once you get used to the game it becames exciting and you learn to love it.
