All societies were non-money based before money was invented...
Hunters & Gatherers roamed the earth for more than 100,000 years without money, perhaps bartering for personal posessions, but food was collected for the entire group...
When civilizations began (the past 10,000 years), and cities became too large, money was invented to keep track of the food, mostly grain, which was the first food that could be stored for longer periods of time...When nations began trading, money became a form of IOU (I owe you)...
Not surprisingly, the image on some of the oldest coins ever found, depicted wheat!

No. The reason is because of scarcity. We do not have unlimited supplies of everything. Diamonds are expensive because they are rare. A great deal of effort must go into mining them out of the earth. Price is the way the economy rations scarce items. Price prevents shortages. As the supply of something decreases, the price will increase. That will encourage consumers to find an alternative.
Take gas prices for example. As gas prices increase, consumers begin to use less gas. We drive less, carpool, use hybrids, etc. We learn to do without. The higher price of gas creates an incentive in the market to find alternatives. Car companies that make hybrids are making a great deal of money now because they are providing an alternative that consumers need. Research into developing ethanol as an alternative fuel will increase as gas prices go up. Again, this is because the market is trying to deal with a shortage by developing alternatives. If gas were cheap, there would be no need to build hybrids or develop ethanol.
We will never run out of gas. We'll stop using it long before we deplete our supplies. And the reason we'll stop using it is because it becomes too expensive. If there were not a price placed on gas, then we would keep using it until we run out. And then we would have no source of energy to run our civilization. There won't be hybirds or ethanol to save us because they were never developed. They were never developed because there never was an incentive to develop them. Why should we? Gas is cheap. This is why money will always be around. High prices hurt, but not as much as running out altogether.

Sure, they called it the barter system, but even that was trading goods for others, so in a sense that was their form of money, they only way is to go live off the land as indigenous people did/do however a money based society is not all bad, as humans go we all desire better things so to get what we seek we do things to earn money to go to the place we want to be, the better or skills the more money we can earn, so we all compete to get what we want. if we had no desires to push us we might be small bands of humans roaming earth to find food as the non-human animals do, by writing society I assume you just mean people living in group (cities, towns etc, etc), but money in what ever forms is necessary at this time in our world, someday it may be not necessary it technology becomes great enough.
that was a great question by the way.

Yes, it is possible. Many tribal society still in existance do not have concept of money. But, there are no advanced society without money. Without common currency, it would be practically impossible to trade all the goods and services commonly available in such society.

It is possible to have a society without money. Money is simply a representation of value. We use it to facilitate trade and maximize the efficiency of society. Without it trade is hindered.
For example... You grow apples, I grow potatoes, Jack is a woodcutter.
Jack likes apples and I don't.
You like potatoes but don't need wood.
You would like potatoes. I won't sell them to you for apples because I don't like them and there is no other compensation that you can give me (money).
I need wood to keep the house warm. Jack doesn't like potatoes and tells me to go scratch.
Jack wants apples but you don't need wood.
No trading occurs here because of no money. Introduce money and all three transactions can happen and all are made better off.

Not in this world. the bible says in the last days the people on earth will have to take a mark on there for head or there right hand and if you do not have this mark you will not be able to buy or sell anything the mark is the number of the beast 666 and if you take this mark you will not be able to enter the kingdom of heaven.
But in the next world there will be no need for money and the streets will be paved with gold no lie.

The best thing for you to do is take your econ classes. Simply put...eveything in society is based on repayment. If I help you - you now owe me help. You help someone else they owe you. You say just help that guy over there because I owe him and that will make us even. Therefore, a monetary system comes into place - think of it as buches of IOU's. It is just one big market of one person helping another and offering their services back by giving IOU's. Hope that helps.
