Your Uncle Eric can help you.

There are MANY mission works just south of you in Baja Mexico.

The no 1 best hookup for music that includes room and board is the mission in Vicente Guerrero. It is for short term or long term. All you need is the online application and a letter of recommendation from a friend and a pastor or pastor equivalent.

The mission includes an ophanage for 80 children, schools, the largest church, a bible college, outreach which includes TV, feeding ministry, etc......It is a mega facility with about 200 staff.

It is not the perfect place for everyone but you will be an insta-missionary and you will become aware of many other missions opportunities while you serve there.

It is close enough to drive home on the weekends, about 180 miles south of the border. And it has hot water.

FFHM rocks!!!

I met my wife on a short term missions trip to Baja!!!

Don't you think they should have a blog?

The coolest thing is the kids and Monday nights. It rained but everyone went out to the Bball court anyway and got soaked.

Music ministery is the coolest opportunity there. The outreach director, I dont remember her name, plays violin in the services, and they teach violin and other instruments.

There are several piano and guitar instructors and the classes are always full.

In the mornings they have a devotion and have a wonderful grand piano and a nice drum set and rotate musicians.

consider a short term visit. You can go for a week and check it out. I dont know of anywhere else that it is so easy.

The guy who mentioned the hot water? Well, he is right!!
There are many places you can go but conditions are not as nice and not nearly as private!!!

The long term staff which I think is more than a week gets their own place to stay.

I am still friends with several of the people I met there and am attending another wedding in November for a couple who went there two years ago.

To "Uncle Eric": although you are at least one of the strangest person residing on planet Earth, you are right about the Mission in Baja.

I have been there and met you when you worked there. You forgot to mention that they also have medical and dental, a firestation, ambulance service, wheelchair ministery and probably other things.

I can recommend Foundation For His Ministeries. FFHM. Sorry I want to add that FFHM also is in Oaxcoa and Morelia!
