Just to be different, I'll state this:
When something is yellow, it's actually every color but yellow. As light reflects off a surface of something yellow, all the other colors is absorb, and yellow is reflected back to you.

Yellow is a color of disintegration. You see the yellow lines on a workshop floor it separates the working area and safe area. Always be aware of the Yellow color it has the quality of changing others.

green-blue=yellow
orange-red=yellow
that's correct, you cannot ADD to get to yellow. you must be there, first.
in other words, yellow is a prime colour.
the colour of friendship (old lore)
the colour of urine (though mine's cloudy)
the colour of mellow (saffron)
yellow is a spectral set of frequencies that are interpreted by the eye as a pleasing tone.
To answer best, I would suggest this, try to explain how salt tastes to someone who never had salt.
