Work with known and reputable photographers. As a beginner you can do TFP (trade for print) work in exchange for getting your work out there.

I have a friend who is a model. She went to a modeling school. The modeling school sent her to fashion shows and all that stuff. Then in the shows and stuff she knew other people for other jobs. First she was getting paid with products of the company using her, like dresses, beauty stuff ,and I don't remember what else. I think she's getting paid with money now.

Put a damn good portfolio together--gather experience in local shows--study like the dickens to know the basics of the business and locate an agent that is on the up and up---and be ready to work harder than you ever thought you would at anything
This is my business--I have been a certifeid model consultant for over 15 years and have numerous accounts in my resume

I got "discovered" when my sister was invited to a casting or whatever. It was in a reknown model agency in my country and they basically forgot about my sister and offered me a lot of stuff like scolarships, new wardrobe and photo shoots with some international photographers.... and some commercials. It was hilarious because I just kept turning them down...
Yeah, I'm not of much help. I finally turned them down after excruciating weeks of hearing their phone calls. They must have really been desperate for wanting me.

auditions, casting photo shoots, and some are actually approached randomly in places such as the mall or store; for example- i have no interest in being a model but the other day i was approached to be a lancome model while i was at work! i didnt take the job offer but it was kinda flattering

Look up magazines, modelling agencies, talk to friends, talk to your PARENTS. You parents can do most of the work for you, it was awkward for me to tell my parents I wanted to do modelling because they expected better of me but they really help. You can start off at finding one of those photographers who are developing a portfolio for themselves.

Tou apply at an Ad agency. Their clients then look through the stacks of photos. You don't actually promote yourself till you become more famous. That's what agents are for.
