Blood on the moon?

I saw a deeply red covered moon a few nights ago and for the life of me I can't remember what it means, I mean a side from the "Blood on the moon a sailors doom" thing.

Oh yeah and what about a red around the moon.....

blood on the moon is supposed to bring danger/trouble. I always thought that a red sky at night was a sailors delight, a red sky at morning, sailors take warning?

The color of the moon is determined by the amount and type of dust that is in the atmosphere. When the moon is low in the sky, you are looking through more mile of atmosphere and so the color is always most intense just after dark.
In folklore , a Red moon can mean many things, It depends on the culture. Where I raised, in Central Indiana , in the 40s, a Red Moon was a sign of a rich harvest. The rings around the moon are called Moon Dogs and a sign of impending rain or wet weather.. we planted, bred lives stock, cut timber, etc, etc, on the sign of the moon. The moon determined our schedules on the farm.

The moon turning to blood is from the Book of Revelation. NOTE: It is "Revelation," not Revelations. The Book of Revelation (also known as The Apocalypse of St. John the Apostle) was a singular revelation made to St. John. It concerns the early Christian Church and has nothing to do with the present age except as a lesson to learn from. In other words, they had their own problems in the 1st. Century A.D. and couldn't care less about what was going to happen in the 21st. Century.

The 'moon,' to the 1st. Century Christians, was synonymous with 'the Church.' During that time the Church was so persecuted that it turned to blood, referring to the spilling of the blood of the early Christian martyrs. It does not refer to the celestial body we know as 'the moon.'

Sorry, I do not know. But on the 4th, there will be Jupiter next to the moon after sunset....check it out. Also the space station will in the night sky that night over the u.s.. Any night is good to stare at the stars and wonder what powers they hold!!!

when the sun turns dark as night & moon turn to a blood red is from the bible in the book of revelations.more than likely you saw a harvest moon,sometimes they turn to a reddish color.for more on this look it up in the bible it would be the last book.its not the end yet,you will know when that comes & jesus steps off his throne & has his angels on all corners of the earth sound their trumpets,then you better worry or be happy.good luck on finding your answer

a blood moon is a symbol to witches to give us a warning trouble is about to happen. which is true. something bad did happen to me at least. but that's a whole separate story.
