Just once. I was way younger, still living in New Hampshire, and had an old, I think it was a vinegar bottle. I wrote a note, added something else and sealed the bottle up. Next time I was at Hampton Beach, I chucked it in the Atlantic. Never heard anything back from whomever picked it up.

Maybe because of the note I wrote.

"If this container is found, DO NOT OPEN!"

"Sealed container of Super-Viral Organism"

"Caution - Exposure to Organism EXTEMELY Hazardous!"

"Return UNDAMAGED Container to:"

"U.S. Department of Defense - Nasty Viruses Division"

And my home address in New Hampshire.

Rolled the paper up and stuck it in the bottle, but before I sealed the bottle with wax, I farted into it, then sealed it real quick. I dunno if who ever found it had a heart attack after whiffing a 6 month old air biscuit, but I never heard anything back. It probably just got broken in the ocean somewhere.

Every morning from beautiful downtown Houston, Texas. Unfortunately by afternoon I realize the ocean was actually my bathtub. That's what happens before I have caffeine in the morning.

Actually, no, I haven't...I try my best to be a little more environmentally conscious with our oceans.

Yes, I did this several times while on an aircraft carrier in the middle of the ocean. I even offered a monetary reward if found, but...to this day I have had no replies.

COOL QUESTION......although I have never done what you asked about, I have done something similiar and I recommend it......next time you are at a store or Party Store...buy a few of the cheap helium balloons blown up and attach a note with a thin string in a light weight snack size ziploc baggy.....I like watching it go up up up up up up up up in the air until I can no longer see it.....
Don't put anything personal in the note, maybe a nice saying or quote or create an e-mail address that you do not use on your own computer and see if you get any responses........GOOD LUCK and I hope you liked my answer.....
PEACE!!!!!

Yeah. One time when I threw the bottle into the ocean, it hit a swimming seagull on the head and killed it. Good times, good times.

Yes, on a cruise. I put it in a bottle of liquor I drank. I wrote; "If anyone should find this, don't worry, I'm not stranded on a deserted island. I got hammered on the Carnival Miracle."
