A friend is looking for a rental between December 2006 and March 2007 (for 2-3 months) near the water. Needs to be in a safe neighborhood, clean and resonable rent. Or she can housesit (has done in the past). Can you suggest anything for her?

Yes San Diego would be a good choice. Depending on her age and interests she could live in Pacific Beach or Mission Beach.
These areas would be more reasonable then LaJolla or Del Mar. They are a bit more casual and maybe a younger crowd. She should run an ad in the local paper. Like the LaJolla Light or San Diego Union Trib for house sitting or check on line for house sitting jobs. She will like it here. I think there is more to do here then in Santa Barbara and we may be warmer as we are further south and since we are close to Mexico she could venture there and back easily. It is only 35 minutes from San Diego.

San Diego. I live here, gas is cheaper than Santa Barbara. Also san diego is more happy. San Diego has lots of clean places. Close to the beach could be Coronado ***** La Jolla ******. Del Mar. All the following places are 10-30 minutes away from all the action.

=each and all of the extremely property from Santa Barbara to Ventura is uber-steeply-priced. in case you desire low priced actual property, you will ought to circulate north to Santa Maria or maybe San Luis Obispo. i could now no longer propose Isla Vista except you desire to ought to coach your toddlers approximately drunken college young toddlers, all-nighters and beer bongs. terrific once you're a student and desire to celebration, even though no longer basically good in case you desire a reliable place on your loved ones.
