Your attitude in the question stinks. Do your own research.

Don't take this as 100% certain, but yes, people of any age can get to know each other and spend time together.

However, it is illegal for you to engage in certain sexual actions with anyone who is under 18 -- whether or not you get approval from her, her parents, or your parents. It's a long list and I won't go through it but you can find the laws if you want and read it. Don't make up any silly rules betewen the two of you for what is sex and what isn't -- the law has specific definitions that you can't change. If convicted you are considered a sex offender and this whill haunt you for the rest of your life, make it difficult to find a job or a place to live.

Also, if her parents forbid it and you cause her to start sneaking out of the house, disrupting her life, etc., you may be committing the crime of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Plus things like smoking or alcohol, skipping school, etc., are illegal in their own right.

18/14 is a big age gap and you have to ask yourself if it's really healthy or right to begin with. At 18 you are more or less an adult, even if new to that game. At 14 she is not -- she has a lot of emotional and mental development in front of her. She probably isn't even full grown yet.

You may think you're in love, and maybe you are. But at any age these things seem a lot more urgent and important than they should. People aren't mature enough to make lifetime commitments until at least their early 20s, probably not until the late 20s. If she's right for you, the love will last and you can make the big decisions then.

If her parents and your parents approve, if you really think you can keep your hands off, and if she's that important, just be careful. I know you'll probably continue no matter what anyone says. Just be considerate of her growth as a person and keep yourself out of trouble. If you cannot contain your sexual feelings or if the parents disapprove, you're just going to have to be patient.

I realize that you are asking a serious question. I looked up the age of consent laws in California. If the person is three years older than the minor (a minor in CA is under 18y/o an adult is 18y/o or older) it is a misdemeanor to have sex with that person. Now that being said, I believe that it would all come down to the parents views on the subject. If the girl is 15 and is mature and has sense and her parents are in agreement with you seeing her then I don't see where it would even be a legal issue.
So what is the home situation like, do you know the parents or are you seeing her on the sly? If it were my child and you were following my rules and willing to see her under controlled circumstances then I probably wouldn't have any problem with it.

I believe it is up to the parents to give permission and as you already know yes it would be illegal if anything sexual takes place. That is Kansas law.... but I am assuming it would be the same as if a senior was dating a freshman correct????? But it would probably benefit you to find someone more your own age, as I am sure others have typed you already. Just for the fact that an 18 year old can do more in life, go places and has different goals and ideas at your point in life, or at least you should.... than a 14 year old.
good luck with this....

Well, it looks like a lot of people barely touched upon the real issue. If you put the young lady in a position where you could be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor (and that can be construed as quite a lot of innocent behavior) you've had it. The charge alone, even if not prosecuted, will stay on your record until you can pay out the nose for it to be removed. If you two really love each other, why would one want the possibility of that happening to the other? Why not just stay away from each other for a couple of years so no one gets, even inadvertantly, hurt?

No, its not legal to date by law but if the parents are okay with it then you should just keep it inbetween the family, My fiance and i have been together for 3 years, We started dating when I was 15, and he was 23, Now I am 18 and he is 26, and we are getting married in January :), If you really love the girl/guy, then go for it!

Well i do not think they can stop you because you are not having sex.. As long as she is not running away with you i do not think they can do anything. I would say that she was your friend.. not girlfriend because people right away would think there was sex involved..
Make sure her family has no beef though.. they could cause problems rather it be legal problems or personal

Well that is my personal opinion about it.. but i guess that means less than the dirt you walk on?
I will not tell you that it is right or wrong.. i am in Pennsylvania and that's what the law is here..no sexual contact no case... Is that good enough even though it is not cali. law????????????

~Only if she's your sister. You can date anybody, but make sure it bleeds before you boff it. Why, pray tell, would an 18 year old want to date a 14 year old. Fighting a case of arrested development here are we? You must have a lot in common. I just hope the 14 year old isn't too mature for you.

There aren't any laws against dating...only against having sex.

If you're going to date, not have sex, you're okay, but then what's the point of the dating???

This girl must be something special if you're willing to wait 4 years to get some.

No, dating a 15 year old is not against the law. However, if the parents of the minor don't approve they can make your life very miserable just implicating you in sex with a minor (statuatory rape). Is it worth it?

You can't date her until she turns 18, and you should find someone your own age, or risk catching " a CASE". (That means her legal guardians can file charges on YOU for attempting to engage in ANYTHING with their child.)Thats ALL law. Not just that, but YOU as an adult should be encouraging her to stay in HER BOOKS, not to DATE. She's too young to be dating.
