Actually I have a whole library of personal experiences all from the same residence. My daughter and I just moved from a 100 year old house we were renting as it was slated to be demolished to make way for new construction.
The building was the original 'farmhouse' in the area before the city encroached and had been used as a duplex, a 'hospital' and a variety of businesses. My landlord had told me that he had heard stories that the place was haunted but he was pretty much a non believer.
Over the 3 years we lived there I have had the following things happen:
1. All kitchen cupboard doors (tops and bottoms) opened (never while I was in the room) almost on a daily basis. I always blamed my daughter cuz we all know what kids are like but after awhile you realize that your child can't reach ALL the cupboards and that none of your animals is tall or smart enough.
2. The sound of someone running down the main staircase from the second floor to the first and out the back door (including the sound of the screen door slamming). Note: house had been converted to flats so it was kind of impossible and the renovations had removed the screen door and replaced it with sliding patio doors. This happened anywhere from 2 or 3 times a week to almost on a daily basis.
3. The continuous sound of someone walking up and down the 2nd floor hall way...when there was no doubt that I was the only person in the building. This happened so much we just figured that who ever was up there was free to pace the floors, just don't come downstairs!!
4. The sound of a doorbell chiming...the first time it happened I went to the door and there was no one there...until it hit me..we didn't have a doorbell just an old fashioned door knocker.
5. The sound of the locked front door opening and footsteps down the main ground floor hallway into the kitchen. I was sitting in my home office when it happened, frozen to my seat. I never turned around and to even look to see who or what was there.
6. My sound of my daughter's bedroom door opening accompanied by footsteps down the hall and up the NON EXISTENT stairs to the second floor.
7. Objects continually disappearing and reappearing hours/days/weeks later. I blamed my daughter for the first two years.....after that I finally caught on that someone/something was playing tricks on me. i.e. my daughter asked for milk money in the morning before school. I had left my purse in the living room the night before and went to get it. It wasn't there! I retraced my steps and ended up back in the living room standing in the exact same spot as before....and there it was. There was no way I could have missed it as I tripped on it when I 'rediscovered' it. On another occasion, I got up in the morning and went into the kitchen to make coffee. That done I went to the cupboard to get my favourite mug which wasn't there. After checking the dishwasher and other shelves I used another. After showering I went into my bedroom to dress and I found my favourite mug on my pillow! The same one I just slept on 20 minutes before.
There were plenty of other incidents including my neighbour asking me what was going on in the house as she kept seeing shadows pass her living room windows between our two houses. I was perplexed because the only window between our two houses was the powder room and it was at the west end of the building....and the alley between our houses is just wide enough for you to walk through sideways, To top it off, her living room windows were at the east.
So before you all think I'm bonkers, I have never experienced anything like this before.....I didn't believe in ghosts or the paranormal but I sure didn't disbelieve they existed either.
My family (mother, step dad) were aware of the goings on and my mother refused to babysit my daughter in the house alone. My mother had heard that if you 'talk' to them/it/her/him to acknowledge their existence they may leave you alone...it was hard at first...and I certainly felt foolish, it seemed to help when I asked my 'room mate' not to take my keys, purse or wallet as I couldn't do without them....I also asked that they did nothing to scare my daughter, myself or my pets (the cat always seemed to be freaked out running down the hall like he was being chased on a regular basis)...
We're now in new digs and there have been no further incidents which leads me to believe that whatever was going on there was site specific. They're building two new houses on the property and I'm curious whether or not these incidents will continue with the new residents.

Hey, Poet! Have you seen that film where those freak things live in the middle of nowhere, slash peoples tyres and eat them/kill them/do horrible stuff to them? What was it called? Was it the HIlls Have Eyes or the other one?
I used to be a nurse on a Care of The Elderly ward and have seen two things that I can't explain, and heard lots of stories from the other nurses.
Once I was talking to a colleague and saw a tall, slim figure out of the corner of my eye. Thinking it was one of the other nurses, I turned to talk to her but there was no-one there.
Another time, I opened the door with a glass window in it that lead to the stairwell. Just as I opened it saw someone standing behind it. I thought I had hit them with the door so I apologised but when I looked behind the door there was no-one there. I ran up the stairs and was sure that I felt someone really close behind me all the way up, as if they were breathing down my neck. I never used those stairs again. From then on, I always used the lift, even thought I am scared of lifts! By the way, it definitely was not my reflection I saw in the door!
I also felt people standing behind me a few times, whcih the other nurses also said they had felt. The presence on the stairs was the only one that I felt scared of, or threatened by though.

we got a flat tire in the woods 3-4 years ago and their was something next to the road following my father as he searched for a house, o k i know what you're thinking woods= bear or wolf or bobcat or coyote. no this thing moved very quietly through the brush and moved as if it were not wanting to make a sund but when it did you could tell that it was big and it sounded bipedaled(walks on two feet) to my dad. Now you might say so what flat tire in the woods doesn't mean anything but two cars not an hour after we got our flat got a flat in the same place the same way, the tires were slashed by what looks like razor wire or just razor. And the animal took off into the woods after the light in the truck was turned on.

Yes! According to ex sister-in-law! She was driving pretty fast then came to a sharp turn and saw a child standing there. She piled on the brakes, then went to check where the child was. No sign. So she called at a house nearby, was in hysterics! Thinking she might have hit the child! Was told that the child wasn't a child but a ghost, a little boy who was ran over at the spot 10 years prior to her encounter. Was told the ghost came out every so often when he felt children were in danger. There was no child on the road (Part from ghost) But she did have her younger son (2) sleeping at the back of the car. I took that road many times but never saw it then again ... I don't drive over the speed limit!

I had a pain in my head...a headache you could say..
..and then.. out of the blue medicine cabinet.. i discovered two "paranormals"...so i swallowed them with a glass of water..and went asleep...
When i woke up my headache was gone and all was back to ""par"... well a "normal" condition anyway.
I hope you found that lil story interesting.
Yawwwnnnn....nite nite.......

There are things that can't be explained that happen everyday. Paranormal experience is one of them and I personally don't like it much.
