I just wanted to know if anyone liked any of the same books as me. I like George R.R. Martin, Anne McCaffrey, Stephen R. Lawhead, Tamora Pierce and Terry Pratchett. All of you are free to list anyone else other then them. But if you do like the same authors what are your favorite books of theirs?

Anne McCaffrey is what we share in common. Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Dick Francis, Agatha Christie, Ed McBain and Terry Brooks are other favourites of mine.

Yep - George R.R. Martin, Anne McCaffrey and Terry Pratchett. Especially TP.
I also like Neil Gaiman (co-auther with TP on Good Omens - my fav book), Raymond E Feist (Magician would be my 2nd fav), David Eddings, Elizabeth Moon, Laural K Hamilton (the earlier books). Sarah Douglas, Douglas Adams, Assimov, Julian May and lots of others. Used to love Vicktor Kelleher when I was a kid / early teens.

Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series is one of my lifelong favorites.
Mercedes Lackey, Larry Dixon, Richard Bach, Robert Lynn Aspirin, J. D. Robb, Laura Ann Gilman, C. E. Murphy and Kim Harrison are great. Jet Mykles is a new erotica author with a great style, Eve Vaughn has a new book out too.
The earlier books by Laurell K. Hamilton are good and Gail Dayton's Compass Rose and Barbed Rose are two new books that really deserve a prime spot in the fantasy genre.

I love Terry Pratchett, I have all of the Discworld stuff and couldn't really pick a fav. I do like the ones he wrote for younger people, A Hat Full of Sky and The Wee Free Men, they are about the Nac Mac Feegle. I also liked Good Omens with Neil Gaiman. I also like Clive Barker, really enjoyed the Abbarat stuff. Anne McCafferey is a fav of mine too. I like Tad Williams Stone of Farewell, The Dragonbone Chair and To Green Angel Tower 1 &2. I didn't care for how he ended his Otherland series. You might also look into Practical Demonkeeping by Moore. It's good for fun light reading with some adventure. I basically like anything with a decent plot, good characters and a decently laid out resolution.

I believe that James Elroy is great author, possibly the greatest living American author,in my opinion, some of my favorite books by him are, My Dark Places, American Tabloid, The Black Dahlia, The Cold Six Thousand and The Big Nowhere, amongst others.
I also enjoy reading books by Studs Terkel, John Sayles, Carlos Fuentes and Ernest Hemingway, amongst others.
I am the only person I know of, who loves the book Moby Dick, by Herman Melville.
I read an average of 2 or 3 books a week, and I really enjoy non fiction, as well.
In my opinion, there is nothing better then a great book, on a cool summer evening.

Find any book written by Frank Sullivan and read it.
I think his best were, "A Rock In Every Snowball" and
"The Night The Old Nostalgia Burned Down."
He was a member of the 'Algonquin Club' which is enough
on its own to prove that he was a very good writer.
