I need to broadcast some Indian free to air channels through my web-site. I have seen some peoples are doing same business here in USA, but i am skeptical sbout the legality of them. Can anyone help??

This would best be answered by the owner of the content that you are distributing. Ask nicely and they will probably let you, because publicity is good.

I guess so. TV shows can be distributed by you over any medium without any lawyers on your butt, same with radio shows which is why most people, including me, are using devices to record music on the radio and TV shows. The only thing that would be illegal is if you sell the content you record. That will set off an alarm for the lawyers to come.
