You might want to try the middle east. I hear the U. S. Army is the leading travel agent for this area. Free transportation and your first stop is the Sunni Triangle - Bagdad is beautiful in the summer - gives you a look into the true nature of traveling on the go. Everything after this is likely to be quite a disappointment, although I hear Afghanistan has lovely skiing in the winter.

Mexico is an amazing place to travel. I was just there for 6 months and it was the best six months of my life. I was in the second biggest city of Mexico, Guadlajara and experienced so many new things, learned about different types of food, culture, worked a little, travelled a lot, saw beautiful beaches and things there are SO cheap : D It realy is an incredible place to travel!♥

Explore the area around you and read a lot!

I have been very adventurous and have found interesting things in all the places I have lived.

Every area has its own uniqueness. It is sad to me that a person can live in a place their whole lifetime and never explores the people and the culture around them.

And by reading, you will begin to learn which areas that you are most interested in seeing. In my mind's eye, I have traveled to many places. The ones that I yearned to see the most were the places I had read the most about.

Good luck!

Where ever you go, make sure you do your research! Look at maps, figure out where the hotel is and make sure you understand how the subway works.

I recommend writing out your subway directions each morning so you don't wind up staring at the directory like a tourist! Makes you a prime target for crime.

Also, if you are in a country where your language skills are lacking... toss the hotel business card in your pocket. Worst case scenario, you can hand it to a cabbie and get back to home base!

Well, I say ... explore your country first. Do not be a foreigner in your own land. Usually, our own countries possess beauty that we don'y usually notice because of familiarity. But believe me, explore your own country and you'll discover beauty you've never thought to be so close .... AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO SPEND MUCH.

Then .. you can begin looking outside. Well then, try Asia and the orient ... beautiful.
