Since this is a geography question and not a philosophy one the answer is sphere.
American Indians held that the world was a circle because if you climbed a mountain and looked around, that's what you saw of the world. A really, really big circle and if that's what you believe, then, in a sense, that's what it is. But it isn't and nor is the moon even if it looks that way. Take a really close look and you can SEE the moon is a sphere and so is the earth.

Our world is 3D. So of course the world is a sphere.
On planar view you might think it is a circle, but actually note that you can never fall off an edge on this world, so that means there are circles all around the planet, which would mean that it is a shpere.
Even so, it is not a perfect sphere. There are some dents and some protrusions on the Earth's surface.

The world is a sphere because a sphere is a 3-dimensional object; a circle is not.

Regarding to our planet, is not a circle because circles are flat, just two dimensions. Spheres have three dimensions so we could say that the Earth has this morphology.
Even though is not a perfect sphere.

Sphere, it's 3 dimensional therefor it's a sphere, circle is 2-dimensional and nothing in the physical world is 2-dimentional except possibly energy waves.

The world is spherical. In 1490, a famous sailor by the name of Columbus, sailed the oceans. he thought to himself " I wonder if i can sail straight and end up on the other side of France. " It did not work instead he landed on the shore of what is now known The united States of America in 1492. The reason I bring this up is because if the world was a circle he would not have been able to sail to America he would only have gone to the edge and fallen off. Also, another point in which might be useful is, in math a shere is that of a 3-d something you can look at and touch. Although it is round it is not classified as a circle. I hope this answer helped.

A sphere is a three dimensional shape, where a circle is a line that ends at the same place it begins. Since we live in a universe that requires three dimensions, length, height, and width, we live on a sphere...

It's a sphere like a ball, not a circle like a pancake.
Actually, though, it's a little more like a ball that someone is sitting on, since the force of its spinning pulls the equator outward a little bit.
