Yahoo messenger will tell you every time you have mail. if you do not want an IM you can sign into Yahoo as a home page and it will tell you if you have mail/voice messages

AOL is the only ISP that I am aware of that audibly lets you know that "You got mail." You need to log into whatever your e-mail addresses home page address in and input you info.

When I log on to yahoo instant messanger, as long as i'm logged onto it, I get pop ups telling me that I just receved mail. But that is when you are logged onto instant messanger.

install yahoo messenger, it has mail notification.
