It's not a movie. It's an extremely realistic re-enactment. There's no plot. If you didn't know who Jesus was, the movie would make no sense whatsoever. I have some friends in Japan from when I lived there several years ago. Christianity isn't very well understood over there, about as well as Shintoism is understood in the States. They found the violence captivating, but didn't know who he was, why he was being tortured and executed, or why they should care.

Jews torture Him and then violently kill Him. Since they don't have Jesus to kick around and kill anymore they do it to their neighbors, women, children and puppy dogs included.

jews are like jesus ain't our king. he's all claiming to pwn the jews and they're like *** y'all. pontius pilates is like don't go there j00s. an d he says jesus dies or barbarus. and j00s are all, free barbarus, even though that negga gone killed like 30 people. so pilates says to the cross with je. then it's all s&m like for 20 minutes, whips n chains. jesus carries his cross to hill. then dies on aformentioned hill by crucifixion. the end . happy trails.
