often.

i am a database programmer. sometimes my work requires i develop a routine to automatically send email when certain conditions are present. before i can make this code "live," i have to work out the bugs. this means that i need to know what the recipient of the email will see, make sure that everyone who is supposed to get mailed is included, etc. instead of sending email to "real people," i use myself as the recipient to insulate the otherwise intended recipient.

last week I spammed myself with several hundred messages. as i have an audible alert that goes off when email is received, this makes the work day quite festive.

party on.

Yes, just to make sure my email isn't being sent to the Yahoo spam folder. I once had a problem where people were not getting my email and I didn't know why. I found out in time and after much aggravation that my emails were being sent to the spam box.

I only send emails to myself when I need to shift data and I have no other way to do so. For example when at school with no usb drive I email research results to myself.

I email myself , like from one email address to another, sometimes because I want to forward someone that I have his/her address in my other email address, for example, from msn and the other person is in my yahoo addresses. I hope you all understand, or it could be too complicated. I guess I 'm just a little crazy

I do. Mainly interesting articles i find online that i figure i'll want to read again. So i mail either the URL or the actual web page to my regular IP account and to my G-Mail account. That way i can find it again, regardless whether or not i am at home.

yeah, i do it for a bunch of reasons. i do it to remind myself of things or i do it to test something out and see if i can successfully send someone certain files. but when i get bored or depressed because my friends haven't e-mailed me in awhile, i send something fun to myself like "You Rock!" just to cheer myself up. lol hey! it works!

Yes, but I send my e-mails to me from a different account. I have one e-mail address that is my primary, and another only I know about, and I write to that one.
