Aveeno makes hypoallergenic skin products for adults and babies. I've used it on myself and my daughter.

I used to have to take my son (middle child) to the doctor when he was a baby. One time a mosquito bit him. He got bit about 3 times and they swelled up so bad that they were about 3 inches wide!! They had to give him oral antibiodic, and some sort of cream.

If the bites look normal, and are not that serious, and are only a few, then I would go to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for their best over the counter product. The pharmacist will know which ones are the safest for babies.

If the problem does not go away, then be sure to consult your doc. Also, keeping the area clean and dry will help prevent infection..

Garlic. Yes, it sounds strange, but it really works!!

Garlic is an antibiotic and antiviral. It will help heal bug bites. It will also keep bugs away. I had one son who was very popular with mosquitoes when he was a baby. I put garlic on him every night before bed. If I forgot one night, he was fine, but if I forgot 2 nights in a row, he'd be all bitten up again...others have also tried it, and everyone tells me it works great!

Take a pinch of powdered garlic, then run your pinched fingers until running water very quickly. Make a paste of the garlic, and spread a little bit on each bug bite. (If your child doesn't have any bites, but you want to prevent more, just put it on any exposed skin; I used my son's forehead.) It will smell just for a few minutes--until it dries. And it is effective for 24-48 hours.

I hope this helps.

i'm not sure. but to keep the bugs away try fabric softener sheets. you can find all kinds of brands that have a hypoallergenic type, like bouce. it'll say 'free' on the package.

Calamine lotion is good, it will take away the itch and it works better if you put it in the fridge before you use it!!! I know it sounds a little bit weird but trust me it works!
