The reason i can't use a key or buttons is because I just bought the bike without those things hooked up. Isn't there a way I can take a wrench and cross a couple of places to make the starter turn the motor over in order to make sure the motor isn't fozen? Thanx.

Geeze Louise, why make it so complicated, jumping terminals, blowing up batteries........why?

If all you want to do is make sure the motor turns over, put the bike into fourth gear clutch and roll a few feet, let clutch out. If you dont think you can outpush the compression, take the spark plugs out first.

you can get a key made from any good locksmith. they have a device that they put in the lock and turn a knob then they can cut a key from that it took less than three minutes when they did mine.

("do not listen to the first answer given he is wrong and you will blow up the battery the second answer is correct.")

does the bike have a kick start option on my sons 79 xs eleven it has the kick starter tucked in under the battery area and you just slip it on. that would tell you if it is forze up or not.
