It's been a lot of years since I graduated from R.N. school and "safety tips" is not a very specific question, but I'll give it a try.
They probably don't have syringes with caps on the needles anymore but: don't recap needles after giving an injection. Be sure to raise both side rails on a bed that has a pediatric patient on it. Use vinyl or latex gloves when there is a chance of coming into contact with blood or body fluids. When giving medications, check the med. name, dose, and patient name 3 times, the last time when you check the patients name band. Always check the patients name band whenever giving any med or doing any treatment to a patient. Always double check any medication or treatment you're supposed to give or do with the actual doctor's order. Check all doctors orders at the beginning of the shift. Use all appropriate protective barriers if potential of coming into contact with blood or body fluids.

I hope that some of these helped.
