well i believe that you can only have a c-section if you have complications. i have to have my c-section tomorrow..vaginal births arent as bad as you may think they are..lol so be calm because a females body was totally built and meant for birth and just imagine the joys afterwards. Good luck!

Some doctors do allow an elective c-section. However some health insurance plans DON'T. So check with your doc and your insurance to figure out your options.
STUDY UP on the pro's and con's of C-Section and Vaginal Birth.
C-sections have longer recovery, and run a higher risk of complication or infection. It is MAJOR surgery. it is not like going to get a bikini wax, or have your nails done. It's not something you just choose to do. So do your homework. It is also proven that babies born via C-section are more prone to respiratory problems. With a C-section, the baby doesn't get the liquids 'sqeezed' out of the lungs naturally. The baby actually benefits by the trip down the birth canal, it is natural, and was meant to be that way. You will also have a scar for life.
Study up on it, talk to your OBGYN, and talk to who you have chosen to be your baby's PEDIATRICIAN. They can tell you more about how a c-section vs a vaginal delivery can make a difference for the baby. Make the decision that is best for YOUR BABY, and you.
BTW...there is nothing gross about a baby coming out of your Vagina. That statement shows lack of maturity. But now that you are pregnant, it is grow up time....big time. So make the best decisions for a healthy baby. Don't just try to avoid things because they gross you out.

Your doctor would only recommend giving you a C section if there were complications... Most doctors want to avoid having to put thier patient thru surgery and they promote natural child birth. When I was pregnant the first time I really wanted a c section too but now I realize that I wouldve hated sitting around with stiches during recovery...plus Ive heard some women are so sore they cant even hold thier own baby too much.

If you get the right doctor yes. Some doctors will do an elective c-section and some won't.
But remember vaginal you recover quicker
c-section is a 6 week recovery from a major surgery.
And choosing an elective c-section is just a plan, it is no guarantee that you won't go into labor early and giver birth before the surgical team is already for you.

It is possible to choose (depending on your doctor) but as a person who had a C-section 7 months ago i can tell you..sure the delivery is painless because you can't feel from your chest down, but the recovery is HORRIBLE. Just like recovering from any major surgery you will be in pain ....LOTS of pain..I have a high tolerance for pain..had strong contractions for 7 hours and didn't use any pain meds. Its much harder to lose the weight afterwards too. Recovery time is a lot longer for a C-section compared to a Vaginal birth as well. ....Anyone who says it's less painful to have a C-section...has never had one

You should have thought of that before getting pregnant then. It's only natural to have a baby coming out of your vagina. You sound a little too immature to be having a baby.
Did you know that a c-section is a major sugery? Why would you want to do that when you can do it another way?

You say you don't want your baby coming out that way but when they cut thru your muscles and believe me they will. You will regret that. Plus you always are in danger of having to have further surgery just for the scar tissue on the inside. I have had several surgery's so trust me I know.Having a C section is no different then having surgery because they have to cut thru your muscles. Good Luck!

I have had 2 c sections and why anyone would Purposely have a c section is beyond me! IT HURTS!!! It takes 2 times as long to heal and its not going to wreck your vagina to have a vaginal birth that is why God gave us one to birth our babies! Research your choice before you jump into it. There is plenty of info online. If I could go back and redo mine i would insist on having my first vaginally but he was an ER csection and didnt have a choice on the second one and now im getting ready to have my third and last and wish i could have it naturally.... PLEASE RESEARCH YOUR OPTIONS!

Some doctors allow elective c-sections. You literally have to call around to each local doctor's office and ask that question before you make the appointment.
