Jews and some seventh day adventists belive that g-d rested on saturday and they therefore designate that day as a day of rest. the christian bible however sets a day of rest but does not specify what rest means ergo it can be interpreted in many ways.

There was a time when Sunday was spent with the family. As the country became more mobile the extended family became closer and was also visited often taking turns visiting each other. Then the malls started up and the TV shows took hold. Eventually the family became second place to just about everything and the rat race took over Sundays. Today we have sports on Saturdays and Sundays and that divides the families even more. If people could return to the old family values the world would be a better place.

I notice that there are a few who understand that the true Sabbath day, is that which was kept by the Jewish Hebrews. This has never changed. God made the earth in six days and rested the seventh, and man is made in His image, thus we do as He did. The first day of the week, (Sunday) is a work day, not a day of rest. In all instances where God had blessed someone or something, it remains blessed forever. Thus the Blessing given to the seventh day Sabbath has never been nor ever will be revoked.

I've found that I have to use Saturday as my day of rest, because I'm usually worn out from the work week. I do a little shopping on Saturday, but I sleep late, read a book, and generally just hang out all day in my jammies. On Sunday, I'm a little refreshed, so it's my major "clean the house" day.

no. any day can be a day of rest. it's wednesday for me here in indonesia and i'm resting right now in front of my computer screen answering this question. =)
according to religion, christianity says sunday is a day of rest. whereas jews, it's saturday. and for muslims, fridays. i believe it's religion that started this "day of rest" stuff.
so, sunday doesn't have to be the only day of rest. oh, did you know in qatar that friday is a day-off? so that means, fridays and saturdays are the weekends. but on sunday, they have to go back to work. so... sunday is the new monday over there!

per the christian bible it is Saturday, and Sunday was the holy day for the ancient Romans.
But generally speaking to your query since no one is absolutely sure on the Saturday or Sunday day I rest on both of them.
according to the bible the only work that is allowed on the sabbath is a have to,an emergency as it refers to 'getting your ox out of the ditch as appropriate.

Whether its Sunday or another day of the week you should have a day (or two) to re-group/re-charge (and do laundry lol). Working 24/7 =burnout.

Prior to Jesus, yes it was specified as a day of rest in the Jewish aw. Then Jesus freed all believers from the law, essentially stating that we can not only rest on any day we choose, but we can also worship on any day we choose (not just on the sabbath). He freed us from many other laws as well.

you are not allowed to "work." what is generaly called work is what you do for a living, ex: a job, or working on the house. Making money, or preventing yourself from spending a reasonable ammount of money

I think that it SHOULD be a day of rest, but depending on your schedule, any other day during the week or weekend can certainly be one as well.
