has anyone bought a venus fly trap from whole foods or w/e u got yours from?do they grow anymore?mine is tiny?

I grow a wide selection of carnivorous plants, including the VFT. You can purchase them online at Sarracenia Northwest. The size of your plants depends on the age. Yours is probably tiny because it is a young plant. The plant should never be fed any insects that are larger than 1/3 the trap size. They should never be fed hamburger meat! A lso, if you trick the plant into closing without a meal inside the trap, it weakens the trap and it will soon die back. There are several different "mutants" on the market today that are very attractive.

Have you been feeding it flies or some other kind of protein lately? They cannot grow without it. Also, The actual act of closing and opening is achieved by rapid cellular growth of the outside of the "mouth" of the Venus if you care to know.
