If you are seriously wondering the answer to this question you might want to check out 2 books written by Michael Newton. One is called Journey of the Soul, the other is called 'Destiny of Souls'.

Both were very fascinating. The premise of teh books is this:
Dr. Newton used hypnosis to regress people to a past life death experience and then moved them 'forward' to the 'other side' . Once there, he asked them questions about what it was like.

The interesting part is this... He did this for over 10 years with people from all types of religious backgrounds (or not religious at all) and they all basically described the same thing.

Sure, it could all be made up, but then maybe not. Each individual must choose for himself or herself that which resonates as true for him or her. What is true for one, does not necessarily ring true for others.

My suggestion: Read the book, notice how you feel while you read it. Does it resonate with you? If so, then it is a part of your truth. If not, toss the book and forget you ever read it.

Ecclesiastes 9: 5-6 "For the living know that they shall die; but the dead know not any thing, neigther have any more reward; for the momory of them forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have ther have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

Isaiah 38:18 " For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth."

I like to believe it gets a choice to remain intact and experience a higher plane of existence or be reborn and get another chance to do better than the last time around.

The other side of what? I would assume you mean death. The fact is that death is the opposite of life. There is no conscious activity after death.
