A journey of a thousand miles, starts with a single step.

I like this as it is all about potential. No matter how unrealistic a dream seems, or how insurmountable a problem appears to be - unless you "take the first step" you will never reach your destination.

I also love the journey analogy - the destination is almost insignificant (it's not even mentioned), but the potential for experience along the way makes each step worthwhile.

Not only this - the first step is often the biggest step & can be the most difficult - yet thinking of it only as a single step toward a greater goal makes anything possible.

Live in the moment. Brings life to a focal point that I can deal with,NOW . I'm not overwhelmed by things that may or may not happen in the future, but the rational decision / plan I make in this moment I'm able to cope with when that moment comes and the past is experience I can tap into to make a good choose.

i like the quote "life's 2 short 2 b cool" because u know how many people out there live 2 b cool? it is stupid and pointless, life is much more fun if u just have fun and dont care what other people think about you.

Coming together is a beginning.
Keeping together is progress.
Working together is success!

This has been helpful in business.
But after seeing so many dysfunctional families, it really became significant in instilling the importance of the idea that a family is truly "functional" when it works together. That's what family means: people who work together to help each reach their greatest potential. Keeping together is progress, but by working together families can reach their full potential.

“Sometimes you wake up. Sometimes the fall kills you. And sometimes, when you fall, you fly.”

The quote is from one of Neil Gaiman's Sandman comics and I find it an excellent one to live by...why? Because it's quite true, of course.

"Tentative efforts lead to tentative outcomes. Therefore give yourself fully to your endeavors. Decide to construct your character through excellent actions and determine to pay the price of a worthy goal. The trials you encounter will introduce you to your strengths. Remain steadfast...and one day you will build something that endures; something worthy of your potential."
