Actually, I think Nicolas Cage named his son that because he was "supposed" to play Superman in the new motion picture... however, the rumor spread and the public thought he'd be horrible... Anyway, your husband need not get pissed, besides, its not like Nicolas Cage copied him, and obviously your husband isn't the only one whose thought of naming a child after a superhero... Why not use "Kal-El" as a nickname? Perhaps when your son grows a bit older, your husband can share his love for Superman comics and have code names for each other... It'd much more original than actually naming your child after somehting pop-culture, a'la hollywood parents. Good Luck!!!

I am open-minded about names, and I like names that come from stories or movies. However, I have never seen a first name with dash in it, and it doesn't seem right. My only advice is to try to encourage him to come up with other names that he likes.
PS: Colin sounds similar to Kal-El, so it sounds like it was a good choice. :)

Only if he legally changes his name to Jor-El and goes back to work using that same name from now on.
Why are some parents so stupid to give their children these crazy names? Is it because their names sucked so much that they want their children to go through even worse ridicule? Like the idiot Penn from Penn and Teller... he names his daughter Moxie Crimefighter... WHAT THE F*CK?
Tell your husband to grow up... jerk off...
Tell him to call 1-800-UDUMASS
