Which Classic-Rock Anthem reaches the Deepest, Darkest Depths of Your Soul & Spiritually ignites you, Inside & Out most:
"Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd,
"Staiway to Heaven" by Led Zepppelin,
or "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen?

Oh, & Missy K; Lynyrd Skynyrd is NEVER over-played, & the band you "Don't" (Don't what, I wonder?) Is spelled: Led Zeppelin, not "led zeplin". If you're going to insult something, at least be superior enough to use proper English & Spelling. Thanks for your post, though!

Ah, so Mr. 'guido' dosen't like my choices either, eh?

Well, that makes 2 hostle Responses I've gotten so far; (This one does have better English & Spelling, though.).

I'll tell this Responder the same thing I told Ms. 'Maggie':

NO song by Queen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, or Led Zeppelin is EVER "Over-rated", "Over-played", or "Self-Indugent".

A loose Request for future Responders:

If you don't like the Choices, then don't answer the Question.

Thanks for your acknowlegement of my Survey, though!

I would like to thank Everyone that participated in my Poll.

Based on the Number of Votes, "Free Bird" seems to be the Winner tonight, with "Stairway To Heaven" comming in as a close Second.

Since there were no Right or Wrong Answers to this Poll, You Guys are ALL Winners to me!

But after careful Thought & Consideration, I could only chose one Answerer to win the 10 Points.

Before I announce the Winner, I would like to give an Honorable Mention to a few other Responces I recieved that stood out:

Based on "Accuracy", Jeff & Victory are the clear Winners there--I agree: They ALL rock!

I got some interesting feedback from an Annonymous Answerer about a Christian band called "Apologetix" (or something like that) who was nice enough to send me some nice links as well--I love getting stuff from Answerers, even if I don't use it.

There were also quite a few Responces that weren't included in the Choices, but I do agree that they are good songs as well!

I would have to say "Stairway to Heaven" because every school dance ended with that song. I loved the irony of he fact that people thought it was a great slow dance until they started rocking out at the end. The "romantic" mood was shot and watching everybody awkwordly breaking out of the slow dance into the fast dance. (Plus it is a kick A$$ song)

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

by Gordon Lightfoot

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy.

With a load of iron ore - 26,000 tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early

The ship was the pride of the American side
Coming back from some mill in Wisconson
As the big freighters go it was bigger than most
With a crew and the Captain well seasoned.

Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
And later that night when the ships bell rang
Could it be the North Wind they'd been feeling.

The wind in the wires made a tattletale sound
And a wave broke over the railing
And every man knew, as the Captain did, too,
T'was the witch of November come stealing.

The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the gales of November came slashing
When afternoon came it was freezing rain
In the face of a hurricane West Wind

When supper time came the old cook came on deck
Saying fellows it's too rough to feed ya
At 7PM a main hatchway caved in
He said fellas it's been good to know ya.

The Captain wired in he had water coming in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went out of sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Does anyone know where the love of God goes
When the words turn the minutes to hours
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd fifteen more miles behind her.

They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters.

Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the ruins of her ice water mansion
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams,
The islands and bays are for sportsmen.

And farther below Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered.

In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed
In the Maritime Sailors' Cathedral
The church bell chimed, 'til it rang 29 times
For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald.

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they say, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

and 10) "Light My Fire" by the Doors. I could go on, but you get the point. Classic rock forever. ---Sincerely, UC Steve.

Since you talk about "bowing in reverance", I prefer the versions of those songs done by the Christian band Apologetix!

http://www.apologetix.com/music/music.php

On their latest DVD when they are doing their version of "Free Bird" the guitarist reaches up and grabs a drum stick the drummer throws to him from about 20 feet behind him and goes on to use it to play the lead instead of using a pick.

It's totally cool! I crack up whenever I hear them do Metallica's Sandman song about Samson and their version of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody is funny too!
