The only sensible thing to do is to protect oneself. If our political system is going to be polarized than you must do what you have to do. I used to pay attention to the issues and only voted for someone if I believed in them. That is why I did not vote for Mr. Gore in 2000. I now understand the mistake I made. I will now support any Democrat that runs. The issues don't matter anymore, whether I've even heard of the person doesn't matter anymore. This evil mess of the Bush administration has taught me that I must play the game by the rules that are there. Reactionary? Yes, but until a third party is allowed in so that the field isn't a black/white checker board, I must do what I can to prevent Evil, Republicans, from having their way.
