Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.
In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.
Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.
In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.
If you would like to learn how to treat your acne permanently and regain your health and wellbeing, without drugs, without typical acne treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

No SD alcohol does not make it go away. It actually makes it worse because it's stripping the natural protection from bacteria on the skin. It take 8 hours for this natural layer to reproduce so all the bacteria and pollution in the air has a better chance of getting in. The best thing would be a pH balance cleanser with salicylic acid and a spot treatment with a 5% benzoyl peroxide. Check the ingredient of you products for any F,D&C dyes, mineral oil, lanolin, fromaldihyde and isopropyl myristate-these all cause BIG problem on the skin.

Alcohol makes the bacteria go away which feeds pimples. But you can have pimples that are not cleared up by alcohol. Try seeing a dermatologist and get a light antibiotic or steroid face cream to use. They are very effective.

Alcohol is an astringent. It will cause the pores to constrict, which could be good or bad depending on the state of the pimples. For example, if you removed the infected material, it makes sense to close up the pore again. Sealed, however, it will probably not make much difference since the bacteria will still be in your face. The special aspect of acne pads, which appear to have alcohol, is that they contain additional chemicals to cause the acne to diminish. Just llike alcohol, however, they will also cause your skin to eventually chafe if used frequently.
Wikipedia again does an excellent job of explaining, although they did miss the obvious point that "scratching" - touching the face - AFTER eating chocolate or greasy food activates pimples. I learned this after conducting an experiment on myself since I love chocolate. Washed hands after eating chocolate - no pimples. Touched face in one spot after eating chocolate - pimples formed in that area! So watch out for where you like to touch your face.
If you do remove zits, make sure your hands and tools are properly washed first or you'll just be creating more skin irritation for future pimples!

No....actually pimples and acne are caused by sebum, the hormone that is secreted...when it gets clogged in your pores then it creates a zit.
Anything applied to the outside is basically a preventative measure to remove bacteria that causes further infection, so unless its rubbing alcohol, it probably wont kill off bacteria as well as a facial cleanser.
Also, it can be too harsh on your skin, so it isn't recommended. =]

If you dab rubbing alcohol on a pimple it will dry up and go away.
It works, but you can't use it long-term because it will dry out your skin. Then your skin will produce more oil to fix the dryness and make the problem worse.

There is this cream and moisturizer thing at estee laudeer. It removes pimples and bumps on your face over night. All you have to do is put the lotion cream on when in the shower. After the shower you put the moisturizer on. Then when you wake up, wash your face and then your skin will be smooth and feel silky. I don't know if achohal will work and I wouldn't try it at all.

no alcohol does not help pimples go away. But you can try baking soda. Just mix it with warm water and keep it on your face as long as you want. then wash it off when you want.

Alcohol may help depending on your skin type and the cause of the acne. I would recommend using a product to prevent them rather than trying to fix them after they are there. I would recommend seeing a doctor or better yet a dermatologist to get the best advice.
