If you put your feet above the elevation of your heart it will help the swelling leave your feet. So you could lay down and put your feet on pillows. Also you can try soaking your feet in epsom salt and water or get a nice foot massage!

Depending on why your feet have swollen, you may need to see a doctor. If your heart isn't pumping well, and congestive heart failure is causing the swollen feet, you don't want to mess around with home remedies.

holding extra fluids can be a sign that your kidney or heart are not exactly up to par, so see the Dr to make sure that everything is alright.
Until then kick back in the recliner to get those feet above your heart to get the fluid to drain back where it belongs.

Elevating your feet is important. You should also drink a cup of tea, as it is a natural diuretic. If this is an ongoing problem, you should discuss with your dr. as you probably need a prescription strength diuretic.
