First of all there was no such thing as the "great Brazil" this year.
There were many teams, and still are teams in this tournament that could have beaten them. France well we'll wait and see if they can continue to improve in there next match.
Italy ? what can I say a tie against a disappointing U.S. team
and a penalty shot in the last few seconds against Australia!!
(gee I wonder what happened there????) a dominating win over a in the tournament, well we'll give them that one.
Which brings us down to one of your picks Germany, and Portugal. One the home team playing in front of the home crowd
trying to make sure they don't end up a disappointing second like the Euro 2004 hosts did. And Portugal the only country out of the four semi-finalists that has never won a World cup. Hungry for one? perhaps just a little. GERMANY VS PORTUGAL JULY 9 2006

Germany is the weakest team left. No doubt they've had a terrific run but this team is really not the Germans of the 70s, 80s, and early 90's. Italy vs. France final. Italy wins 4th World Cup.

Well, Germany has a great chance of winning if they continue to foul and cheat the way they did with Argentina! Great "drama queens" I must say! Argentina was definitely the better side and should have been given a penalty instead of a yellow card for being fouled! In addition, they DESERVED to win the World Cup - they play with so much style!!!!!
Teams who play fair and have sportmanship should rightfully win!!! I'm betting on Italy, although France or Portugal is fine too...Definitely not Germany!!!
VIVA ITALIA!!!

When this World Cup 2006 started last month, I picked 8 teams to win their groups. I choose France to win their group. All of my teams except for France are out. I predict that France will win the World Cup 2006 in Germany! Vive la France! I live in French Texas (Houston/Galveston). As alot of y'all allready know, many people from New Orleans moved here to Houston/Galveston last year after the hurricane destroyed New Orleans. Houston/Galveston is now the New New Orleans of the South!
Go France! Best Wishes from Houston/Galveston, Texas USA and James Partsch-Galvan www.galvan.org

Possibly although the hosts have won it on five occasions. However, the final will be held next door so French people will not have far to travel.
Of the semi-finalists, it appears open:
France: their defence has been impressive. For much of the group stage, they seemed to lack firepower but were the better team against Brazil and Spain.
Portugal: Were impressive in the group stages and are coached by Scolari, who won with Brazil. Lucky to beat England who had ten men on the pitch for an hour though.
Germany: They are my tip to win. Best team throughout the tournament and have a considerable advantage.
Italy: impressive defence but offence has struggled. Lucky to beat the Socceroos and drew with the US.

sorry to disagree with you boy, but I think Portugal now finally has a chance to be a world cup winner. Final score prediction against Germany, 2-1. Sensational finals it will be. France has surprised us more than enough. The journey and bla bla stops here. Hope you do not mind her being classified 4th against Italy, on a third place battle.

Italy will beat Germany, Portugal will beat France, then Portugal will beat Italy.
by the way Houston is not French it is not the new New Orleans. I live in Houston. Depending on which part you live its mostly Hispanic in some parts, African in some, and rich whities in the other. not that many french people.
