I have a little dent, and the paint has chipped off, but I don't want it too get any worse. The dent looks as though a tennis ball hit it, or someone opened their car door and Boom! What should I do?

All of the above are really good answers. If you are wanting a very quick easy (and temporary) fix, try some clear finger nail polish. This will seal the affected area until you can take the time and expence to reapir it properly.

If it"s a small chip get some touch-up paint (not spray) and dab in the area of the chip....remember less is better so don't glob it on ...if it's not enough you can go over it again......most new car dealers that sell your make car will stock your particular color ..and they know where to find the paint code. sanding and priming will make it look worse unless your a professional auto painter which your not or you wouldn't be asking this question

wash car than dry than use a fiberglass pen to clean up the scratches, if the scratch only broke the top paint use touch paint with the brush. But it broke down to the metal use primer first have any cheap watercolor brush? spray the primer in a cup than use the cup tip the brush to cover the bare metal let dry than touch-up paint.

Prime and paint is correct assuming you have the proper tools and the skills. If not, take it to your local discount auto paint shop and have them do a $49.99 special.
