War is never a good thing as people will be killed or crippled, children orphaned, economies destroyed, etc
Perhaps exception are when is for better mankind without causing others to suffer, like war against illiteracy, against piracy, against viruses, etc

I don't think war is a good thing. Whatever the gain from war, it cannot mitigate the loss of life.
But then again, life isn't all about good things. Some things just need to happen for life to progress sometimes, and that's just how the cookie crumbles.

War is only a good thing to the countries that benefit from it, but no war is a good war.

War is never a good thing to me. Coz It break up families, killing the citizens, prices of goods rise like rocket and people robbed others etc. So how can war be good.

well, if there weren't any wars then change would never happen, like the revolutionary war. or to stop other countries from causing destruction or harm like in WW2. plus during such wars such as the crusade there was a huge cultural exchange where spices were brought to europe. and sometimes wars are started to fight for ones rights against inequality.

The soldiers fighting in Iraq were trying to get rid of Saddam Hussein. They got rid of him, and now they are helping the Iraqi people set up a new form of government. The media doesn't tell us the good things happening over there. My cousin is fighting over there and she said she's talked to so many of the locals and they just love it that the Americans and other fighters are over there helping them. I think helping a country of people who are helpless is good. They couldn't do anything without the fear of being put to death by Saddam Insane (whoops. I meant Hussein ;)) The soldiers are forced over there. They chose to be in the army and that's what they're getting paid to do. They're protecting our country from the terrorists that bombed us in 2001.

It is good because it change the course of history of that country, but the consequence of war is the death of civilian.
