Going to take the kids to the local festivities and let them run wild and have fun. Then have a BBQ at my parents house, then watch the fireworks at night.
Doing our own firworks, even sparklers, are banned because of the fire danger

I'm jumping in my car at 12 to drive to Kentucky to catch a plane to Amsterdam. Yes, I'm fleeing the country on Independence Day. It was the only flight left.
Usually, I'm in Alabama where all of my dad's family lives. They invite over my huge mobs of cousins and a my few uncles and aunts. The guys barbecue and the girls make potato salad and cole slaw and macaroni and cheese. My Uncle Randy makes a delicious blackberry cobbler. Those that want to pile into various cars that we don't all fit in because not enough of us cousins can drive (I'm channelling 9 year old me) and go see the fire works sitting on top of a hill, covered in bug spray and blankets. When we get home, we run around in the drive way catching fireflies and turn the lighted parts into earrings. It was a simpler time.
