Having a termite "barrier" or prevention done is a good thing. It will cut down on termite damage. But lots of people are to cheap or lazy to have it done on a contract basis every year. Lots of folks only do it after termite damage is already done.

If the house has a recent termite "barrier" done you should have a home inspector check specifically for previous termite damage.

And once you buy a home you should keep the termite insurance active.

Go for it, most of all if recent is like a year ago or even less...that means you have two or three years till you have to get one done again. You will realize when it's time to have one done again, because of fresh droppings....beige in color...old droppings are dark brown to black. As a homeowner it's a must to have your house treated with termite barrier, termite droppings or none....every three to four years.

You first need to qualify why the termite treatment was undertaken. if it was preventaitive then this is a good things, however it may mean that you will need to repaeat this treatment on a regualr basis.
If the treatment was to stop ongoing termite damage, how extensive was the damage, and more importantly has it been repaired?.

cha! Yes! Otherwise you have to get one done.
