I love baseball and other sports, but I don't enjoy soccer.to me, it's
not entertaining at all.I watched part of the world cup where mexico and another team which I don't remember,were playing.there were no scores during the entire game and it ended 0-0. that's why I don't like soccer.

Soccer is not very popular because there is not much to it, you kick a ball into a goal...big woop.
Baseball, you hit a small ball up in the air,(anything flying in the air appeals to most humans)plus there are home runs, strikes, balls, and outs, different bases.
Baseball and Basketball have alot of elements into it, soccer really doesn't.

I'm American and not much into soccer, but I'm not much into anything except perhaps equestrian events. Why aren't more Americans into it? I would say it's because it lacks publicity here. The only real time it's shown on channels that don't specialize in sports (such as ESPN) or the sports time of News shows is the World Cup. I think it was shown more so that people here could get to know it, it would become more popular. Some of the other replies you got were stupid like the generalization of ALL Americans, also the one about there not being much to it, there's no less to soccer than there is to American football.

With regards to the entertainment element, it is subjective depending on the culture you are exposed to.
But one thing is for sure:The World Cup is the only event which truly stops almost the whole world from turning yet the US is not a big part of it (Which is nice). It is also the only "world sport" that crosses the boundaries of countries and cultures. Also it is the true football which almost all the world calls "football" except the Americans.

I'm American as well, i think the reason every other country on the planet is so in love with soccer is because they are fiercly loyal to their home teams. This world cup i've tried to get behind our team, but when they got bumped out, i couldn't care less. unless if i'm watching a close game where both teams get close to scoring often, i can't watch without almost falling asleep. I'm sure some Europeans would say the same about baseball. but it's just the differences in culture. they were brought up on soccer, americans were brought up on the holy trinity, baseball, football, and basketball.

its not sponosred too much because there are no timeouts so commercials do'nt make much money. i think u were thinking about mexico vs. argentina (argentina won) i kinda like soccer.also americans don't play soccer that much.there's also some elements to the game. there are offsides, outs, fouls(Like basketball), penalty kicks and others but ur wrong soccer may not be popular and it may be boring or good (depening on you're opinion) but u just dont sit around waiting until u get the ball and score.
